Signode BXT2-19 Battery Powered Strapping Tool

The BXT2-19 is another popular tool in Signode’s BXT2 series. It is the fastest tool in the market and comes with two lithium ion batteries and a charger. As with all Signode tools, this tool is also ergonomically designed and the most well balanced tool in the market.

The BXT2-19 can run 5/8” or ¾” PET strapping and the guides can be changed to allow different widths of strapping. The tool can be preset to the desired tension and due to the automation, the strapping is pulled and then the tool goes on to weld and cut. After the welding is done, the tool counts down to zero after which at the sound of a beep, it becomes known the weld has cooled and is ready for the next application.

It is all done in a simple easy and effective operation. The BXT2-19 stands out among all other tools for its flawless mechanism. It has a tight grip on the handle, and the operator need not worry about the tool tipping forward during its operation.  The tensioning, sealing and cutting is done is a smooth manner.

All tools in the BXT2 series are ideal for tight and difficult strapping positions due to their small interface size. The tools can be operated upside down, vertical or horizontal depending on where the seal has to be placed. The BXT2-19 uses the friction weld type of sealing which is becoming popular in many industries. This sealing gives a great joint efficiency and helps in packaging securely just like metal seals. However, there are many in the industry who do not trust the friction weld sealing and opt for metal seals.

The advantage of using friction weld sealing is that it is inexpensive when compared to metal seals which are expensive and have to be stocked when purchasing the tool. The BXT2-19 is very cost effective in that it is a combination tool and also for using this type of sealing.

Depending on the application, the tension levels can be programmed before each strapping application. This tool accommodates both light duty to heavy duty applications, and the tensioning force can range anywhere between 88 pounds to 880 pounds. It uses the brushless motor and this ensures minimal operating issues, and should the tool get broken, the wear parts are few and easy to fix.
